Gallup Bump + bad campaigning

June 9, 2008 19:26 by johnolimbo

McCain's campaign is doing a horrible job.  Tax and Spend Democrats are going to own Washington in January if we don't do something about it.  Try this on for size: Democratic House and Nancy Pelosi's agenda gets rubber stamped in Hardly Read's senate and gets signed into law by Barack Insane and Michelle "fist bumping to success" Obama.

How could this happen?  Most Americans are grossly unaware of basic economics.  I just wish more liberals would post here.  Blast me with whatever you have I'm dying to debate you.  Debating economics with liberals is kind of like wrestling crack away from a bulimic junkie: it's easy, you'll always win, and it's better for everyone that you win!

Oh and http://www.gallup.com/poll/107764/Gallup-Daily-Obama-Takes-Lead-Over-McCain-48-42.aspx 48-42 Obama beats McCain now.  And if Hillary is the Veep... 51-42.  It's amazing that 51% of my fellow citizens are that willing to cut their jugulars to spite their Bush-hating hearts.  We'll see how the bleeding heart liberals feel when the tax, borrow and spend Democrats they put in office cause their bank accounts and 401k's to bleed red.

Seething Anger Leads To a Plea

June 9, 2008 08:53 by johnolimbo

I realize that I have been down right mean towards many Democrats and Democratic Socialists.  What can I say, I feel it is more mean to be so incompetent that you foster policies that brutally harm America than to be ultra-critical of people who fit that description.

However I think humility may get me farther along the path to avoiding disaster.

Here is my plea.  I know 66% of you either hate Bush or don't approve of him.  I drive 140 plus miles a day so I too am hurting at the pump.  I know the median income has gone down and we are facing inflation.

I want y'all to tell me how voting for Democrats is going to help with any of these problems.

In the next 4-5 years, how are Democrats' policies going to help gas prices?

In the next 4 years, how will Democrats' policies fix Social Security and Medicare?  We're facing an entitlement spending crisis... of 52 trillion dollars over the next 30 to 50 years thats btw DWARFS the current WORLD GDP of 50 trillion dollars!  How about them apples?!

In the next 4 years, how will Democrats' policies grow our economy - and if they do grow it will it be more or less under Republican policies?

Listening to Chris Van Hollen on the Diane Rehm show this morning, all he could do was criticize Bush and the Republicans - he didn't offer one plausible solution for anything that would work!  It's so easy to criticize, it is so much harder to come up with government intervention into the private markets that makes sense.  Enlighten me.

So if free trade is so bad...

June 6, 2008 18:57 by johnolimbo

Why then are the left parties (more left wing than our Democrats) in the EU, Canada, and the right wingers in Russia pursuing them?  In other words the democrats are dragging down the US by opposing free trade.  It would be a logical fallacy to say that because everyone is doing something then it is the right thing to do - but in this case Pelosi and her left-wing coalition would have to ignore all the data in the world to make their case!

Globalization is the future, we need to embrace it, not run from it.  It's good for us and good for the world.  We're all stronger from it.  We're going to lose our global market position...

;I know most of you hate Bush - but please, stop listening to your idiot politicians and listen to everyone else's idiot politicians ;)

Best part of this article:

In any other country, such a pointless squandering of market share would be cause for alarm. But somehow, Pelosi & Co. imagine that America doesn't compete in the world, that markets don't matter and that the U.S. will always be number one.

They steep themselves in puritanical righteousness, stalling the Colombia pact over a few crimes being prosecuted by authorities, while American influence and competitiveness wither.

Colombia isn't going to wait for Pelosi to come to her senses. It'll go ahead and do business with Canada.
