Our military is deployed all over the world. Before we start talking about this ridiculous myth being peddled by the DNC, and especially by the allegedly "honest" Barack Obama, I would like to ask y'all some questions.
1) Do you advocate the US withdrawing our troops in Kuwait?
2) Do you advocate our troops withdrawing from Germany?
3) Do you advocate our troops withdrawing from Korea?
4) Do you advocate our troops withdrawing from Japan?
I'd say about 99% of you would so no to at least 3 out of those 4 questions. These four questions are non issues to the general public. Why? Because none of our troops are dying there. There is no combat there. We are there for strategic reasons. Like I said, the general public either has no opinion or supports our troops being there. Very rarely you have some isolationists or extreme budget hawks saying we shouldn't be in these regions, especially Japan, but I only mentioned that FYI because it is a non issue. I often read Real Clear Politics because it is a good political news site with interesting commentary. I found this article today, "The 100 Year Lie" by Charles Krauthammer http://www.realclearpolitics.com/articles/2008/03/hoping_for_100_years.html. I think you should read it - it goes on to say this and I will quote him, Hence: A Howard Dean fundraising letter charging McCain with seeking "an endless war in Iraq." And a Democratic National Committee press release in which Dean asserts: "McCain's strategy is a war without end. ... Elect John McCain and get 100 years in Iraq."The Annenberg Political Fact Check, a nonprofit and nonpartisan project of the Annenberg Public Policy Center of the University of Pennsylvania, says: "It's a rank falsehood for the DNC to accuse McCain of wanting to wage 'endless war' based on his support for a presence in Iraq something like the U.S. role in South Korea." The Democrats are undeterred. "It's seldom you get such a clean shot," a senior Obama adviser told Politico. It's seldom that you see such a dirty lie. I would recommend that you read the whole article. It is short, less than a page but loaded with good facts that show how dishonest Clinton, Obama and the DNC is on this issue. If not take two points from it - first off the one I quoted for you and secondly this: when McCain said 100 years in Iraq he meant 100 years in peace as in what we have in Japan, Germany, South Korea, not war. He does not want a 100 year war in Iraq - anyone who tells you this is horribly misinformed. If you can't take my word for it take a non-partisan Ivy League schools.
And an update!!!!
Professor Saggi called me and gave me an interview about free trade. I am going to post what he said so we can see if Obama and Clinton are right about free trade or if McCain is right. If y'all had to guess who was right how many of you think the Dems have it? Rs?
