21st Century Republicans.

I think I am beginning to see a new movement in the Republican Party.  A movement I would be happy to be a part of.  I see a new wave of Republicans - keeping the principles of Ronald Reagan but updating them to the 21st century.  These principles are of growing a firm capitalistic society but emphasizing the governments need to address externalities like education, the environment and health/property rights.  Health/property rights does not mean universal healthcare.  It means that most doctors don’t have to lose their life liberty and property in malpractice lawsuits.  Education means turning around our inner cities and other impoverished areas so instead of draining tax payers dollars they help build a surplus in which we can re-invest in our economy or pay off our debt.  Education means ending the cycle of poverty in this country which destroys peoples present and future.  The environment means protecting our planet for our children and our children’s children.  We need to find a way to go green and protect businesses. These plans all require great sacrifice, but it is a sacrifice we need to make.  Sacrifice is a word that is foreign to many Americans, but it is a word that we are beginning to get intimately familiar with.  Sacrifice will define our generation as we face our challenges.
