It finally happened... my litmus test Moderate is now backing McCain!

So you are probably wondering who is my litmus test moderate.  No chance I can tell who they are - they don't want to me to.  I'm ok with that too as I respect their privacy.  But my litmus-test moderate told me today that even though they had been enchanted by Obama earlier on this year, that after some time and research they began to see his true colors.  Their reaction: "Way too left-wing for me.  McCain is the candidate who is the closest to the center."
Like my mystery moderate, we both enjoyed Clinton - we didn't necessarily agree with all his policies but overall he was a little to the left of the dead center of the American political spectrum and thats ok with us.  I'd much rather have a center-right or right winger BUT then again I'd much rather have someone just a tad bit to the left than someone way off in the left wing like H Clinton or Obama.  Plus I don't think that Dole in '96 would have been an effective leader (although in '92 H.W. would have been the best)... something tells me that Dole wouldn't have passed his key economic and tax reforms - seemed like at that time those policies would not have passed the senate filibusters.  They could have tried to reconciliation them in and maybe they would have gotten them but somehow I doubt it.  Anyway... I liked how Clinton reformed welfare and enacted free trade pacts.  I also liked how he tried to build democratic coalitions and help out other struggling democracies.  I didn't like his high tax policies, or how he cut the military and of course his pro-abortion stance and Monica Lewinsky affair... but overall he tried to balance the budget and wasn't bad to businesses so... meh what can I say, Clinton like any centrist candidate is going to have some bad and some good.  Some good is better than none and thats what we would face with Obama or H Clinton at the helm.
