Who is Barack Obama?

A few days ago I had a little fun and went up to random people at my college campus - I was dieing from too much work and needed to take a 30 minute break.  I should have brought the video camera.  I asked around and when I talked to Obama supporters I found that they had no idea what his policies were and worse yet many of them agreed with Rev. Wright!

Policies first: A lot of them talked about "change and hope" and didn't know anything else but those three words.  A lot of them said "National healthcare right?"  Did they know how he would implement it?  Sort of - "government care right?  Free right?"  Yeah, cause if the government creates it is free, right?  Somehow the government uses its magic to make things that cost money free...
Withdrawing from Iraq was next.. or better put "Ending the war".  When asked how much this would help the economy: "Tons...Lots...yeah we're spending so much on the war..."  144 billion dollars a year in Iraq.  Roughly equal to about 1% of our entire GDP.  This isn't an economic issue - we can afford it.  I then pressed on about the consequences of leaving Iraq.  Specifically I asked about the threat of another Iran, or of genocide or of a civil war.  Either people didn't think it was going to happen, or if it did we would need to address it, by um I guess by their logic not ending the war.  So either the government uses their magic again to stablize Iraq by leaving, or we leave but if and only if our leaving does not cause any severe consequence to humanity.  But don't the Republicans want to do that too?  Pull out the troops when there is better security and the country is stable?  Yep, thought so too.

The worst was the Wright questions: Now a lot of people I talked to dismissed Wright as an issue.  Sadly though there were some who agreed with him.  Now I didn't press how much they agreed with him as I had to get back to work...but, that says a lot doesn't it?

Lastly, why is it ok, or why is it more acceptable in the main stream media and/or the lefties, for Wright to spew his anti-american, racist, anti-semetic, false statements, and utter horse manure?  Would a KKK right winger get this kind of free pass?  My point is neither Wright nor a KKK right winger should get a pass, they both deserve to be condemned!
